New York City doesn’t tiptoe into the future. In 2026, the city hosts the FIFA World Cup, serves as a central hub for the nation’s 250th anniversary, and continues doing what it has always done. Ever upward.
I’m closing out this year somewhere quieter and warmer.
My toes in the sand in St. Maarten.
Watching the waves.
Letting the year settle.
It wasn’t a smooth year.
But it was a full one.
And I’m choosing gratitude.
We welcomed Jay and Denise to the team.
We watched Elisabeth close many deals with finesse.
We may or may not have seen Maddy fall in love.
Chris and I marked another strong year of partnership, held steady by our sons, Douglas and Kenneth.
Along the way, we were honored to be recognized several times as top performers at Brown Harris Stevens.
Looking ahead, the market feels sharper.
Less speculation.
More preparation.
AI has made market and niche information readily available and easier to digest. Buyers are arriving informed, ready to move when the fit and pricing align. Inventory remains tight across Manhattan and the Tri State area, reinforcing pressure on both city and suburban markets.
My hot take?
Locally and nationally, Real Estate remains a long term anchor.
But for now, my friends, I’m letting 2025 drift out with a line from Jimmy Cliff’s Journey:
So from the lessons learned and the tables turned
The victories earned and my heart still yearns
OXOX,
