With the spring season only two months away, now is the time to get the ball rolling for anyone looking to list their home. Coming out of a monumental year in NYC real estate, it’s expected that the momentum will carry over into spring.

One of the things most sellers fail to consider is the time it takes to prepare a home for market, between minor repairs and painting to developing a sound marketing strategy. One should allot two months, at minimum, to plan and prepare to sell their home.

I just filmed a new 2-minute video with some tips when selling your home. At face value, one may think these suggestions are “common sense”, but you would be amazed at how many people fail to consider and overlook them.

Selling a home in NYC can be a burdensome process for some, so putting together the right strategy and working with an experienced broker will help eliminate many of the headaches and mistakes sellers often make.

As I mentioned in my last email, we’re in a sellers’ market and with foreign buyers back in the picture and Wall Street bonuses expected to be extraordinarily generous this year—making now a prime time to list. Not to mention, interest rates are expected to go up so buyers are looking to take advantage of the attractive rates while they can.

I hope you find my video helpful. You can also look to the Sellers page on my website for other information that can assist you through the process. Also as a reminder, Brown Harris Stevens’ Curate program allows sellers to defer renovation and staging costs until after close of the sale. Please reach out with any questions.
