Friends, colleagues, neighbors, |
Yes, what you see above really is a chocolate version of Hamish! March this year brings Easter, which is very early. Chocolate eggs feature strongly in our Easter baskets in the UK and Europe and so when I saw this special edition egg in the UK, I had to buy it.
March is also the month of the Spring Equinox. This year it comes early, on March 19th. Usually, it's March 20 or 21 but because it's a leap year and February gets an extra day, the season moves up a little on the calendar. So if Spring Equinox is early, then Daylight Savings Time had to start early too, commencing on Sunday March 10th. So that Sunday morning started an hour early too, giving us that hour less in bed. (I know a summer's worth of more evening light is worth the trade……it just never feels that way that Sunday morning!)
In keeping with the "things are starting early" theme, I’m seeing the spring housing market is starting early this year, and at a pace.
If you have been out looking at property, you will have noticed that the first showings have been very busy. The first weekend of my latest listing had 36 appointments, with more requests on top that could not be filled. That is exceptional. The overall market might not be at 2021/2022 levels, but in our neighborhoods, well presented, well priced homes will welcome many buyers.
Time for both sellers and buyers to get “Spring Ready".
If you need help understanding what that means, ask me. Always happy to share my contacts, knowledge, and cheer you on to spring success.
Wishing everyone health and wellness, until we meet again. | |

| Run don’t walk to get tickets to the BAM performance of the new Mark Morris dance production, “The Look of Love”.
I was very lucky to see a rehearsal preview of this Mark Morris new production back in the fall and it is wonderful. Live music, new arrangements and singing by Broadway star Marcy Harriell. This production is a collaboration between Mark Morris and the iconic music of Burt Bacharach. The first major production from Mark Morris for five years. March 20th to 23rd. Get tickets if you can, it will not disappoint.

| Museum of the Home East London
Obviously, I have a thing about homes. The Museum of the Home is in the East End of London housed in almshouses built in 1714. It has a very interesting mission, to reveal and rethink the ways we live, in order to live better together. They have rooms through time, gardens through time and home galleries. Fascinating. They are refurbishing right now so a summer visit maybe. |
| Even if you don’t celebrate Easter, you can still enjoy a hot cross bun. freshly baked daily from Myers of Keswick. Lightly spiced dough studded with raisins, dried cranberries and fruit peel. Finished off with the classic cross and a sweet orange glaze. Toast them and lavish them with butter. What’s not to like. Head on over to the West Village to stock up. And while you’re in the area buy your chocolate eggs of course at Tea and Sympathy or Myers! |
| Whilst on the theme of British food, have you ever taken a Sur La Table cooking course? They have one dedicated to the British classics of Victoria sponge cake, sticky toffee pudding and sausage rolls. Three of my favorites for sure. They have two classes in March but they fill up fast.

| The Orchid Show: Florals in Fashion is now on at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens through April 21st. Showcasing their wonderful orchids with fashion is such a creative idea. The fashions complement the wondeful colors of the orchids. Have not been yet but intend to.

Yes, despite interest rates having ticked up for the past four weeks, January showing a 5% decline in pending in contract sales and inventory still not at the levels we need, I do have reasons to be cheerful!
⭐People are out looking, ⭐Open houses for new listings are very full ⭐Offers are being made ⭐Economic forecasters from all the banks are predicting that in the second half of the year we will see rates fall |
|
Nobody has a crystal ball but a touch to the tiller for rates and inventory will make a big impact.
Be prepared is my motto always. Seller or Buyer. No head in the sand
Let’s talk about what that means for you
Connecting the dots across life’s decisions, through real estate
